Name: Tir na nOg
Owner: Shamus O’Grady, Rhinnon, and Killian
Type of Place: Irish Pub
Description: The direct translation of Tir na nÓg is "land of eternal youth". It refers to a mystical land in Gaelic mythology where the trees are always in bloom and there is always a bard to sing for you, where the food is always bountiful and the drink is always flowing, and, most of all, a place where you'll never grow a day older. The word “pub” originates from the term “public house” which references a community gathering place or focal point within the community for socializing and sharing stories, daily events, and in our case, good food with a great beverage.
The idea is to bring the best of what Ireland has to offer to Vienna. Creating a true and authentic “public house” environment is the hallmark of Tir na nOg, bringing the "Craic" of the Irish to our pubs. "Craic" (Pronounced crack) means a fun, friendly and exuberant atmosphere. Come experience a bit of Ireland in your own backyard.
Location: Downtown
How many stories: Two (The second story is a private loft though.)
Services provided: Tir na nOg offers a full service bar and a very wide selection of beers both domestic and imported. Our kitchen offers many dishes based off our Irish tradition such as our Traditional Irish lamb stew and our Beef & Guinness Pie. If that’s not to your liking then we offer a few local favorites like the Tafelspitz and there is always our award winning Salads, Steaks, or Burgers.
If your looking for a bit of entertainment then come and check out our game room. It features several dart boards, half a dozen billard tables, and a shuffle board table. On Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays we also offer a live band on our stage starting at ten PM.
