The world wasn’t always like this, there was one time…years and years ago when the sun still shown brightly on the world, warming it’s mixed lands with it’s gentle rays, holding back the terrors that walked by night. It was during these days that we flourished, our greatest cities and empires were built, and when there was nothing left to build we fell backwards, content in our mastership of the world. Some say it was our arrogance, our quest for even greater weapons that destroyed the sun, thrusting our world into eternal darkness.
The dark. Terror.
Darkness has always been a source of fear for human kind, but now, in this eternal night the dark has become some thing more, it blankets us, keeping us warm, safe in our fear. No longer are our streets safe, even when fully lit. The battle between God and the Devil had spilled into the night, Angels and Demons fight for the future of man in our very streets. The faithful remain safe, under the protection of the Angels…but those of us that have forgotten god (many of us have) live with no protection…even those with protection live in fear, knowing that the Angels have no love for man.
The dark. Disease.
Even now, hundred of years into the future, men are still mortal. Even with the micale cure that protects us and mutates us disease thrives in the dark lands of this world. Disease is every where, mutating those of us that have not been mutated, and killing the rest. There is no cure for many of the terrible plagues that the darkness has set on us, and many are simply driven mad by the fear of catching the plagues.
The dark. Life.
It’s nearly impossible to imagine life before the dark, but here in the dark, under it’s blanket, men have evolved. We had to, with out evolution we would of all died. However, evolution does not happen with out…help. It took our scientists less then a year to create the super drug, the drug that would save us. It worked…but not like we hoped. There were side effects, hundreds of them. Even now we don’t understand what their doing to us, more and more of us mutate every day. Many of our mutations make life easier, but their not with out side effects. With out them we would not survive, with them…we manage.
Welcome to our nightmare.
